Celebrate Red Wine Day with Off the Hook
National Red Wine Day is on its way. Red wine is a favorite among wine drinkers, and this beverage pairs well with a variety of dinners. This year, celebrate Red Wine Day with Off the Hook!
The oldest-known winery was found in what is now Armenia. It is believed that this winery was in use during 4100 BC. During the 1300s to 1500s, Europe did not have a consistent supply of clean drinking water. Instead of drinking dirty water, Europeans drank wine. Wine first came to the Americas in the 1500s and 1600s when the Spanish conquered land. They brought wine with them and it began to grow internationally. By the 1800s to modern-day, vineyard popped up California, Australia, South America, and, of course, Europe.
After surveying 1,000 Americans, 80 percent said they liked wine. Of that 80 percent, 20 percent claimed that red wine was their favorite. If you’re a lover of red wine, enjoy a glass at Off the Hook this August 28.
